For the preparation against the inevitable outbreak of the undead virus.

[Science] The Noise Bomb

Today I’ll be showing you a couple of helpful reactions to help distract the horde in a pinch.

Method one

What you’ll need:

Muriatic Acid (available at pool supply stores, most of which will probably not have been looted)

DISCLAIMER: Muriatic Acid is highly corrosive! So be careful!

Aluminum foil
An empty 2-liter bottle with lid
A funnel
Gloves

Directions:

Put on your gloves
Take about one meter of Al-Foil and twist to fit inside the bottle, place inside bottle
Using the funnel, fill about 1/4 of the bottle with the acid
Screw the lid on quickly, shake the bottle and throw it toward an area you want the horde to go.

The ensuing noise will be loud, this method (due to the danger of the chemicals) is best used when wanting to distract a large horde (to escape, let’s say; a safe-house).

Method two

What you’ll need:

Baking Soda (Bi-Carb Soda)
Vinegar
Empty 600ml bottle with lid
Plastic Wrap
Funnel

Directions:

Using funnel, fill bottle about 1/2 full of vinegar.
Lay out a 20-30cm square piece of plastic wrap.
Place a small amount of Baking Soda in the middle of the plastic wrap.
Bundle up the plastic wrap and stuff in the bottle, leave some of the wrap over the lip of the bottle when putting the lid on so that the soda and vinegar don’t mix early.

The noise from this method won’t be as loud, however, given its portability it is perfect when out hunting for supplies and you need a distraction; just shake it up, wait for it to start to expand and throw it.

Repeated disclaimer: The following items are only to be made and used in the event of an actual zombie apocalypse. If you make these items, you do so at your own risk and we are not liable.

I've been preparing for the Zompoc since my first play-through of Resident evil 1, that first damn zombie was creepy! (little known fact, they used a render of an actual dead person's eye in that clip!)
